KEY NOTES
The original floor had a flexing subfloor issue that would have caused tile cracking within a year. We installed a decoupling membrane over the existing floor after applying level compound, completely isolating the tile from subfloor movement. This added half a day to the schedule — we discussed it with the client and got approval before proceeding.
The shower niche was not in the original scope — the client requested it after demolition revealed a perfect opportunity in the stud bay. We framed, waterproofed and tiled it with no change in schedule.
