FRAMING

Renobit provides precision interior framing for homes and businesses across Halifax and Dartmouth NS. Whether you're developing a basement, adding a partition wall, or reconfiguring your floor plan, we frame plumb, level, and to Nova Scotia building code.

BASEMENT DEVELOPMENT

A properly framed basement starts with a moisture barrier, proper spacing from concrete walls, and straight, level stud work. We frame around mechanicals neatly, create proper door rough-ins, and leave a clean canvas for your drywall, plumbing and electrical trades.

PERMITS & CODE COMPLIANCE

Most basement developments and structural modifications in HRM require a building permit. We work with your permit application and ensure our framing meets HRM code requirements and passes inspection.

COORDINATION WITH OTHER TRADES

Framing is the first rough-in step. We coordinate timing with your electrician, plumber and HVAC contractor to ensure rough-ins happen in the right sequence before drywall closes up the walls.

COMMON QUESTIONS

In most cases yes — HRM requires a building permit for basement development. We can walk you through the process and ensure our work passes inspection.

We use both. Wood is standard for most residential work. Steel studs are preferred for non-load-bearing walls in basements due to moisture resistance.

A typical 800–1,200 sq ft basement takes 2–4 days to frame depending on complexity, number of rooms, and rough-in requirements.
